Timebank Spotlight

Participatory Budgeting

These examples show some of the ideas submitted during the Participatory Budgeting (PB) idea collection phase.
Letticia, a retired Paralympic medalist, led a Timebank Group Exchange open to the community, sharing an inspiring demonstration of Blind Soccer. Timebank and community members experienced the challenges of the game while gaining valuable insight into the resilience and determination of athletes with disabilities. It was a positive, eye-opening event that celebrated inclusivity and the power of sports to bring people together.
At the Timebank, we value everyone’s unique assets and skills. In this exchange, Timebank members are learning the art of kneading dough and making their own flour tortillas, celebrating the sharing of knowledge and building community through hands-on experiences.
In this photo, Timebank members are happily teaming up with PFLAG Las Cruces for a Produce Pop-Up event! By supporting one another, we’re not just helping out—we’re building a stronger, more connected community filled with care and positivity!
In this photo, community mappers are hard at work on a participatory mapping project at the Community of Hope in 2018. Their efforts were focused on creating solutions to help slow down traffic, demonstrating the power of collaboration in making our neighborhoods safer and more livable.
